    What is the oldest bookstore in the United States?
Moravian Book Shop in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is believed to be the longest-operating bookstore in the country. Samuel Powell of the Churchs Crown Inn on the South Side of the Lehigh River was appointed to operate a bookstore in 1745. They moved into their present location in 1871.
 
    How literate is the US adult population?
Statistics from the National Institute for Literacy (NIFL), show that 20.7% or 40 million American adults read at a level 1 performance. People in this level can read a little, but have problems completing an application, reading a food label, or reading a childs simple story.
 
    The percentage of American adults that read a book at least once a week is:
32.4% with a primary education or less
43.2% with a lower secondary education
46.4% with an upper secondary education
60.8% with a non-university tertiary education
61.4% with a university education
 
    What book had the largest first run printing?
"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth book of the series, had a first-run printing of 4.8 million books. The United States printed 3.8 million and the United Kingdom printed 1 million. This book also holds the Guinness World Record for the most advanced orders: 5.3 million world wide.
 
    How many books are in the Bible?
There are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament for a total of 66 books. Psalms is the longest with 150 chapters and II John is the shortest with only 13 verses.
