Moravian Book Shop in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is believed to be the longest-operating bookstore in the country. Samuel Powell of the Churchs Crown Inn on the South Side of the Lehigh River was appointed to operate a bookstore in 1745. They moved into their present location in 1871.
